He was alleged to have voluntarily caused hurt to the girl in the storeroom of a supermarket in Pedada Road here on Jan 28 between 5pm and 7.30pm.

According to news reports, the girl was seen shoplifting a colouring book and was stopped by a female employee of the supermarket who subsequently handed the girl over to the supervisor.

When she tried to escape, the supervisor allegedly slapped her in the face. She was only allowed to leave two and a half hours later.
