KUCHING: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sarawak vice chairman See Chee How remembers the late Dato Andrew Wong Kee Yew as a person who had a lot of positive energy and selfless in contributing to the state.

See, who is also Batu Lintang assemblyman, said words could not describe his sadness for Sarawak’s loss of her good son in Andrew, the former deputy Sibu Municipal Council chairman and the only son of Second Finance Minister Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh.

“I have not met Andrew, Actually we had plan to meet through Dato Sri Wong to discuss the needs and arrangements to have a law faculty in UCTS (University College of Technology Sarawak) which according to Dato Sri Wong, Andrew was interested. But the meeting did not happen.”

“Significantly, he (Andrew delivered, particularly in UCTS, and SMC during his time. May he rest in peace. Pray that Dato Sri Wong will be strong. Sarawak needs your leadership and services,” said See.

Andrew was found unconscious in the dressing room of his house in Sibu at around 9pm yesterday.

His mother, Datin Sri Pauline Leong called in a doctor to resuscitate Andrew, but, failed. Andrew was then taken to a medical centre, where he was pronounced dead at 11pm

Sibu police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said they would now wait for the post-mortem to confirm the cause of Andrew’s death.
