Permanent placement, appointment letters for 182 interim, new teachers

A total of 182 teachers received their permanent placement and appointment letters in secondary schools from the Sabah State Education Department yesterday.

KOTA KINABALU: One hundred and eighty-two interim and new teachers received permanent placement and appointment letters in secondary schools from the Sabah Education Department here yesterday.

Sabah Education Department director Misterine Radin urged the 132 interim and 50 new teachers to take a 21st century approach and create a fun learning environment for the state’s secondary school students.

She said teachers must be proactive in becoming transformation agents on the school culture and environment.

She added adopting the Professionalism Learning Community culture amongst teachers would inculcate diligence, competitiveness, discipline, honesty and integrity values.

“Teachers of the 21st century will be able to diversify the classroom-learning approaches to engage students,” said Misterine, whose speech was delivered by the department’s School Management Sector head Mohd Zaini Yanian, during the letter presentation ceremony at the Sabah Federal Government Administration Complex here yesterday.

“Fun learning methods during studying should be applied by teachers when running the PDPc (learning and facilitate). Because we realize that every student is a person who has a heart, mind, feeling, soul, hope with various specialties and disadvantages.
