Ministry expects this year a busy one

KUCHING: This is year is going to be a busy one for Ministry of Industrial and Entrepreneur Development following the approval of RM116.65 million from the Sarawak government for its various programmes.

Its minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, who is also deputy chief minister, said they would also be working hard to attract more domestic and foreign investments to Sarawak.

“We will continue focusing on development of industrial estates and ‘anjung usahawan’ (entrepreneurs avenues) as RM99.77 million has been allocated for the purpose.

“We have also allocated RM9.7 million to hold various programmes for the development of entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises. The remainder will be for investment promotion activities and management services,” he
said at the ministry’s Chinese New Year gathering Wednesday evening.

Awang Tengah also told the ministry staff to practise efficient working style and always be result-oriented in their service delivery.

He said this was important in order to give lasting impression on investors, traders and the public.

“I am very happy with the achievement of the ministry staff members especially with the 98 per cent customer satisfaction rating given by stakeholders and five star rating by the Treasury Inspectorate,” he said.

Assistant Minister of Entrepreneur and Small and Medium Enterprise Development Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais and the ministry’s permanent secretary Datu Liaw Soon Eng were also present at the event.
