Mysterious car fire baffles Bomba

Firemen are seen inspecting the car after they managed to put out the fire.

MIRI: A car caught fire at the Bintulu-Bakun road near Damai Sime Darby-Samalaju plantation bypass on Thursday.

The brown metallic sedan was seen burning at around 4.24pm.

Six firemen and a fire rescue tender (FRT) from Samalaju Fire and Rescue Station (Bomba) led by senior fire officer II Allan Ayuh were dispatched to the scene upon receiving an emergency call on the incident at about 4.24pm.

The firefighters, assisted by some auxiliary policemen, managed to put out the flames within minutes after their arrival.

Upon extinguishing the blaze, the team continued to inspect the area to ensure there were no other fire hazards nearby.

The actual cause of the incident has yet to be determined.
