The deputy chief minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George was quoted recently as saying the situation was under control.

In his statement, Dr Chan said there was no fatality even with two serious cases and both patients were receiving treatments at the Miri Hospital.

Meanwhile, Dr Abdul Rahman said the Indoor Stadium, used as a temporary quarantine zone, was sufficient to accommodate all patients.

“We are confident that the Medical Department has contingency measures should there be a rise in patients infected with Cholera including putting them up in Dewan Suarah,” said Dr Abdul Rahman.

He advised the people to practise good personal hygiene such as washing hands and consuming only clean boiled water.
