KUCHING: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) state liasion chief Baru Bian yesterday described the effort by certain groups to distribute comic books about PKR Advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the state as an unhealthy political situation.

“These kind of methods should not be brought to the state. The people of Sarawak are not interested in this kind of issue,” said Baru when met at PKR Media Centre yesterday.

He elaborated that Sarawakians were more interested in important matters involving development and policies.

He called on the people to be mature in politics and not to harp on irrelevant issues and promote personal attack as it will tarnish people and their lifes.

“Certain groups from Peninsular Malaysia clearly tried to introduce this sort of trend in Sarawak and this effort should be stopped immediately,” he added.

Delivered to a reporter from The Borneo Post, the comic depicts the PKR advisor as a homosexual, and was poorly edited and designed.

The 15-page coloured comic entitled ‘Kisah Juara Raja Lawak’ was posted from a post office in Shah Alam on March 26.

Bian also said that the final list for PKR candidate will be revealed on April 4, as they are still in the midst of discussions with other opposition parties.
