MAS launches ‘Global Deals, Dream getaway’ campaign

KUCHING: Malaysia Airlines (MAS) is offering travellers great deals to over 100 destinations across its routes in all six continents through its nationwide ‘Global Deals, Dream Getaway’ campaign, which kicks off today.

MAS area manager for Sarawak, Mohamad Asif Abd Talib told The Borneo Post that the campaign represented the airlines’ initiative to reward customers who have always been loyal and supportive of MAS.

“We hope that the relationship will continue. Furthermore, we at MAS will also continue to offer as many attractive, value-added deals to our customers in line with our tagline; the ‘Malaysian Hospitality’,” he added.

“The sales period for the campaign begins from May 3 to June 3 for bookings to domestic routes, while for international destinations, it will last until this May 18. Both are for travelling period between now until March 31, 2012. Advance purchases will be 30 days for domestic routes, and 60 days for international ones,” he said.

For the campaign, MAS would be offering up to 80 per cent off from its normal market fares during the promotion period covering all travel segments, for business and economy seats.

On domestic routes, customers could plan one-way trips to Kuching at only RM179; and to Kota Kinabalu at RM129. The airlines’ East Malaysian community carrier MASWings would also be offering 40 per cent and 80 per cent discounts on business and economy classes, respectively, within Sabah and Sarawak.

Meanwhile, bargains from MASholidays – the group’s travel and tour arm – would include a free cable car ride worth RM35 per person for every full holiday package booked to Langkawi; courtesy of Panorama Langkawi.

MASholidays would also be offering a scenic flight tour of Kota Kinabalu together with a close-up view from the top of Mount Kinabalu, South East Asia’s highest peak from RM350 per person.

With free and easy packages from as low as RM509 for a three-day/two-night to Medan; and from RM605 to Phnom Penh, customers would be spoilt for choices. Other amazing packages from MASholidays included a four-day/three-night package to Shanghai from RM1,249; and to Sydney from RM2,720.

All prices stated would be for a per person basis, with travelling departing point from Kuala Lumpur. For the ‘Lambaian Kaabah – Umrah dan Ziarah’ (pilgrimage package to Mecca and Medina), MAS’ 11-day/nine-night full-board package would range from RM5,400 to RM6,500 for this year’s May-August departures.

With packages to over 59 destinations on MAS extensive network, MASholidays’ trips would be inclusive of return airfare on economy class, airport transfers at selected destinations, hotel accommodation and breakfast.

Regionally, economy class flyers could travel to Asean destinations such as Bangkok and Yangon from only RM189; and RM359 to Bali. They might also want to check out fares from RM389 to Hong Kong; RM499 to New Delhi; RM599 to Maldives; and RM789 to Perth.

Business class fares are offered from RM699 to Bandung, Siam Reap and Phnom Penh; RM1,159 to Taipei and Xiamen; RM4,219 to Melbourne; and RM2,439 to both Dubai and Dammam.

Across its European routes, travellers would be able to take advantage of the lower euro currency by planning their European getaway with fares from RM6,319 to London, Frankfurt, Paris, Rome; and RM6,329 to Istanbul.

Elsewhere, those travelling to Johannesburg and Cape Town on business class could enjoy fares from RM6,689 and RM8,949, respectively, to Los Angeles in the US.

MAS would be offering these great deals through all its distribution channels, namely its website at www.malaysiaairlines.com, flymas.mobi on via mobile, MHbuddy on the airlines’ Facebook page, as well as across all MAS ticketing offices and appointed travel agents. Travellers could also find a complete list of destinations and fares at MAS website.

MasterCard Worldwide would be the official card of the Global Deals, Dream Getaway; in which cardholders who charge their eligible cards on MAS ticket purchases would stand a chance to bring their partner to an exclusive ‘Priceless Moment’ event end of the year.
