PETALING JAYA: Distributors and employees of leading direct-selling company Amway (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Amway) gave generously in response to the company’s donation drive in aid of the Japan earthquake-tsunami survivors.

The collective contribution from Amway distributors, employees and the company amounted to RM60,000.

“We are truly encouraged by the sincere contribution of all who came forward to donate,” said Paul Yee, general manager of Amway.

Yee handed the donation to Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) chairman for Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur Branch Datuk Dr Noordin Ab Razak at their national headquarters in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur recently.

In thanking Amway for its contribution, Dr Noordin said funds collected by MRC will be channelled to the Japanese Red Cross Society for further distribution directly among the affected population.

“I am glad that we were all given a chance to help those who were affected in Japan. It’s sad to see pictures and stories of hundreds of people left homeless from the quake.

“I hope our contribution will go a little way to help them rebuild not just their homes, but their spirit as well,” added Yee.
