Three detained for drug in police operation

PENANG: Three men who tested positive for drugs and six illegal immigrants were detained in an integrated operation at Batu Feringghi early yesterday.

State Public Order and Traffic Police chief Supt Wan Aziz Wan Husin said the three men in their 20s were believed to be employed by traders at the beach.

“We also detained five men including two employers and a foreign woman for not possessing travel documents,” he said.

Some 300 people were checked and 89 summonses were issued on motorists during the operation from 5pm to 3am.

Wan Aziz said operators of five foot reflexology centres were also hauled up for operating illegally. — Bernama
