INVESTMENT TALK: Tan in discussion with Pan on investment opportunities at POIC.

Tan and his delegation from the Poic Sdn Bhd, including its chief executive officer Dr Pang Teck Wai, just returned from a trade mission to Guangzhou, China.

The delegation called on potential investors there including the Department of Agriculture of Guangdong Province.

Tan said his delegation held a fruitful discussion with the department’s deputy general director Pan Xue Fen.

During the discussion, Raymond briefed Pan on the various investment opportunities available in Sabah which is now promoting downstream processing activities in the state.

He extended state government’s invitation to China investors to come and invest in Sabah.

As a gateway to the Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines-East Asia Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA), Sabah has huge potential in downstream processing industries.

He also said that POIC is a government-linked company located in Lahad Datu, which has a good potential in the oil palm industry.

Before this, a company from China involved in processing oil palm fertilizer, has already indicated its interest to invest at the POIC.
