INCREASING AWARENESS: Takaful Malaysia business development manager Muhd Haikal Idris explaining the company’s products and services.

Takaful Malaysia business development manager Muhd Haikal Idris said that the company was now using a three-tiered agency structure to push its offerings compared with the previous system of using salaried staff at its branches nationwide.

He stated the strength of the company lay in its products as Takaful Malaysia was the first takaful player in Malaysia and had been in the industry for the past 25 years.

“We have innovative products in our lineup which come in the form of an education plan named myGraduan. This product is geared towards the younger generation,” Haikal said.

On another note, he mentioned that the myInvest plan was intended for adults looking to make meaningful investments for their financial security.

Haikal was of the opinion that each organisation had its bestselling merchandise and in its case, it was the myGemilang plan which catered for the elderly and provided protection and savings for old age.

According to him, Takaful Malaysia’s participation in the event was also an eye-opener for its agents on the techniques of marketing its products to the public and served a dual role purpose as a training ground for them to hone their skills on the ground.

He encouraged more people to take up takaful-based financial products and noted that more non-Muslims were amongst their customer base.

In fact, Haikal quoted a figure of 10 per cent to 15 per cent of non-Muslims customers throughout the event so far.

In addition, he mentioned that approximately 30 cases were recorded on Saturday and they were expecting another 60 more yesterday.

Haikal concluded that Takaful Malaysia was still building on its effort to create a larger clientele in Sarawak as they were still some way behind their Peninsula counterparts.
