According to owner Tommy Hu, the area has been a hotspot for both local and foreign tourists and since the restaurant’s opening at the area, they have received rave reviews from visitors from West Malaysia, Australia, America and the United Kingdom.

The latest outlet will be the restaurant’s third branch in Kuching whereby the main branch is situated at Petanak road and the other at tHe Spring shopping mall.

This branch is named ‘Madam Tang’s @ Chinatown’, and has been operating since Friday.

Hu added that the restaurant’s specialty was their Laksa Sarawak and Nasi Lemak.

“What makes our dishes unique is its rich and authentic flavour. We only select the highest quality ingredients and spices for our dishes,” he said.

He further said that the restaurant’s laksa is richer than other laksa due to a special blend of spices and the use of only the freshest ingredients. In addition to that, their Nasi Lemak is made with high-quality fragrant rice cooked using authentic Malay recipes and styles and it comes in four different varieties; Nasi Lemak Classic, Nasi Lemak Fried Chicken, Nasi Lemak Curry Chicken and Nasi Lemak Beef Rendang.

“Our aim is to promote Sarawakian cuisine to tourists visiting Sarawak because the Laksa Sarawak at our branch at tHe Spring has had very good response from west Malaysian visitors. Our emphasis is also to serve high-quality food in a clean and inviting environment,” he said.

Besides Laksa Sarawak and Nasi Lemak, the restaurant also serves Seafood Kolo Mee, Fried Chicken Noodle, toast and eggs. According to Hu, their toast is made out of fresh homemade bread and is best accompanied with a glass of teh tarik made from ceylon tea. He added that in conjunction with the new opening, diners are entitled to a free bowl of Laksa Sarawak for every RM20 spent per visit.
