She captivated the judges not only with her catwalk and beauty but also her graceful and entertaining rendition of a Chinese traditional dance in the talent show to grant her the title in the Miss Tourism Intercontinental 2010 Charity Preview Show cum Gala Dinner.

Miri is hosting the tourism beauty pageant in conjunction with the fifth anniversary of its elevation as a city. The 23-year-old model is among the 33 beauties vying for World Miss Tourism title.

Eastwood Valley Golf & Country Club hosted the preview show cum gala dinner in aid of Riam Road Secondary School on Sunday night. During the dinner, managing director of the club Law Kiu Kiong presented an undisclosed amount of financial contribution to Miri City Council for the month-long Miri May Fest activities and programme and RM15,000 to Riam Road Secondary School.

Present at the charity show was Miri mayor Lawrence Lai and the pageant franchise holder Alaric Soh.

The grand finale of the pageant will be held on May 20 at Miri Indoor Stadium. Tickets priced at RM10 each are now on sale and are available from the one-stop-centre located on the ground floor of the city council’s multi-storey car park during office hours. Limited tickets (less than 500) are still available.
