Thailand deputy PM visits Melaka



MELAKA: Thailand Deputy Prime Minister Trairong Suwankiri and his wife and daughter yesterday visited the World Heritage City of Melaka.

They arrived from Kuala Lumpur at 3pm and were greeted by Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam and chairman of the Melaka Tourism, Culture and Heritage Committee Datuk Seet Har Cheow.

Trairong and his family visited the A’Famosa Fort, the Melaka Sultanate Palace, the Stadthuys Building and Jonker Walk in the Bandar Hilir area, and were taken on a cruise on the Melaka River from Taman Rempah to the river mouth, a distance of 4.5km.

After a reception at a restaurant in Jonker Walk, Trairong and his family left at 5.40pm for the KL International Airport to return to Thailand.  — Bernama
