He was picked up early Wednesday morning in the vicinity of Taman Budaya along with two teen girls and two teen boys after a police patrol vehicle noticed them acting suspiciously in the area.

Information obtained from the detained youths led a police team from the Central Police Station to a housing area in Batu Kawah around 10pm Thursday where three youths and a teenage girl were subsequently arrested.

The group of juveniles is believed to be actively involved in petty theft, snatch theft, roadside robbery and house breaking in areas such as Satok, Padungan, Kuching Waterfront and Batu Kawah. The last case the group is suspected of being involved in is a house breaking incident in Batu Kawah earlier in the week.

However, no stolen items were found in their possession as they are believed to have disposed of their spoils immediately after committing the crime.

The nine young suspects are currently being held to facilitate further investigation.
