MIRI: Visitors to the Miri Trade Fair 4 (MITRAF 4), organised by See Hua Marketing Sdn Bhd, will be entertained by the Fajar Cultural Troupe.

The troupe will perform on the third day of MITRAF 4, at the concourse area of The Imperial Mall, from 5pm to 6pm.

Fajar International College, or FIC in short, which will also participate in MITRAF 4, has in many ways gained the faith and trust from the relevant authorities as a premier higher education provider to the youths and working adults of our nation who have chosen to expand their minds and change their lives with the courses they embarked upon at the college.

FIC is the first and by far the only education provider to offer the DipOSH (Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health) which is recognised by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health, Malaysia (DOSH). In fact, FIC can be considered as the premier college in East Malaysia to offer OSH programmes, as this is the only Diploma in OSH programme which gains recognition from DOSH, besides the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) accreditation, in East Malaysia.

Graduates can register themselves as Safety & Health Officer (SHO) with DOSH after three years of relevant working experience.

It is imperative that present and prospective students give this due consideration because only graduates of Occupational Safety & Health diploma that are recognised and endorsed by DOSH can apply to register as Safety Health Officers (SHOs).

Safety and health is a rapidly expanding field which provides its graduates demanding and growing employment opportunities, especially in the lucrative oil and gas industry.

Safety and health issues have rapidly become business considerations for corporations and small companies alike. For that reason, the OSHA 1994 Act, requires employers to have a safety committee as long as they have in least 40 employees.

FIC is the first educational institution in Miri to be approved as the tuition provider by the world renowned accounting body from the United Kingdom, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). To date, FIC remains the only centre for both the paper-based and computer-based examinations approved by the local branch of ACCA.

Fajar International College’s Diploma in Accounting covers the syllabuses approved by the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia, and accredited by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), which means the Diploma is recognised and accepted by both industries and academic institutions.

Through its professional partners, namely ACCA and AIA (Association of International Accountants), graduates can also gain these internationally recognised qualifications locally.

Other programmes that FIC currently offers includes the Diploma in Business Studies (DBS) , Diploma in Human Resources Management (DHRM) and computer application training. FIC invites applications for the next intake in May 2014 for all the programs. Aspiring students can call 085-491448 or visit its website at www.kolejfajar.edu.my or email to: [email protected].
