Monorail, RapidKL to extend services on Dec 31

KUALA LUMPUR: In conjunction with the 2010 New Year celebrations, the Light Rail Transit System (LRT), KL Monorail and RapidKL bus services will extend their hours of operation at selected stations tomorrow.According to a statement issued by Syarikat Prasarana Negara Bhd, stations along the Kelana Jaya LRT line which will offer longer services until 2am are Kelana Jaya, Bangsar, KL Sentral, Pasar Seni, Masjid Jamek, Dang Wangi, Kpg Baru, KLCC and Ampang Park, while other stations will end at 12.45am.

“For the Ampang LRT line, the Hang Tuah, Masjid Jamek and Bandaraya stations will be operating until 2am, while other stations will end at 12.45am.

All KL Monorail stations will extend operations until 3am,” said the statement.

Meanwhile, RapidKL buses will offer services until between 12am to 2am on New Year’s eve.

Buses ending their operations at 2am will involve the Kelana Jaya, Taman Bahagia, Asia Jaya, Universiti, Kerinchi and Bangsar LRT stations.

“Bus services to the Taman Paramount, Asia Jaya and Setiawangsa LRT stations will end at midnight, while services to the Wangsa Maju, Taman Melati and Gombak LRT stations will stop at 12.45pm,” it added.

Buses to the Ampang, Cempaka, Pandan Jaya, Maluri and Bandar Tasik Selatan LRT stations will continue until 12.45am.

RapidKL buses to the Ampang, Cempaka, Pandan Indah, Salak Selatan, Bandar Tasik Selatan and Bukit Jalil stations will stop operations at midnight.

“Commuters are advised to use Store Value Tickets for LRT and KL Monorail services, or the RapidPass to facilitate quicker travel,” it said.
