AirAsia launches extra flights for CNY

KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia Bhd (AirAsia) Asia’s biggest low-cost carrier and recently awarded the coveted “Best Airline of the year” by CAPA, welcomed 2010 by launching extra flights to various destinations to meet additional travel demands during the forthcoming Chinese New Year (CNY) holidays.Guests need not worry about catching a flight back to their hometowns or plan for their family retreat and trips with their loved ones during this year’s festive season.

AirAsia’s Regional head of Commercial Kathleen Tan in a press statement said, “AirAsia ushers in the year of Tiger and this is the perfect time to add extra flight frequencies for travellers’ convenience during the festive season.

“This year’s Lunar New Year happens to fall on Valentine’s Day so couples have another excuse to hop on the plane and go on their romantic escapades at low fares.

Meanwhile, these extra flights are applicable between Feb 9 to 21, 2010 and will cater to AirAsia popular destinations which include Kuala Lumpur-Penang, Kuala Lumpur-Singapore, Kuala Lumpur-Sibu, Kuala Lumpur- Kuching, Kuching-Sibu, Singapore-Kuching, Kuala Lumpur-Johor Bahru and Johor Bahru-Sibu.
