Firefly adds fifth daily flight to Singapore

KUCHING: Community airline service provider Firefly Sdn Bhd (Firefly) is increasing the frequency of its daily flights from Subang to Singapore to cater to the current high demand.

A fifth flight is now open for sale and the service will commence from March 28, it said in a statement yesterday.

Apart from Subang, Firefly’s flight service also connects to Singapore from Ipoh, Kuala Terengganu and Kuantan.

“High loads and strong demand for this route have encouraged us to add the fifth frequency flight,” said Firefly’s head of marketing and communications Angelina Fernandes.

Moreover, in conjunction with the added frequency of flights, Firefly is now offering a promotional fare from as low as RM100. The promotion also covers flights to all destinations from as low as RM50 and RM100 for domestic and international travel, respectively.

The offer runs from now until January 21, which will be applicable for the travel period between January 21 to October 30 this year.

These promotional seats are limited and available on a first-come-first-served basis, bookings can be made exclusively online via the airline’s website at www.fireflyz.com.

Firefly, a wholly-owned commuter airline subsidiary of national air carrier Malaysia Airlines, began its operations in April 2007.

Looking ahead, it expects to carry 1.3 million passengers by the end of this year.
