Uphold trust and instill sense of unity, association leaders told

KOTA KINABALU: Leaders and members of the Borneo Malay Brunei Association (Pembaru), especially zone leaders and state information chiefs, were urged to carry out their jobs the best they can.Pemburu president Nurdin Ag Gador said the association’s principle is ‘Amanah dan Tanggungjawab’ (Trust and Responsibility), and it is a must for those who have been appointed to play their roles based on the principle.

“I urge all members to carry out their tasks with full dedication and to maintain the association’s image,” he said.

“Leaders should also instill a sense of unity among all races within their areas to maintain own peace and harmony,” he added when speaking to reporters after gracing the presentation of the association’s certificates and appointment letters to zone chiefs and state information chiefs at Wisma Sedco here, yesterday.

Nurdin said: “The association was formed with an objective, and it is up to its appointed leaders to make sure these objectives are met and realised.”

He said that besides helping its members and others, Pembaru also aims to improve the economy and preserve inherited treasures and traditions.

“This association is also responsible to spread and strengthen the spirit of patriotism of all people and help instill positive values in communities at all levels,” he said.

Pemburu deputy president Abdul Karim Ghani and advisor Ag Hashim Ag Gador also spoke at the event.
