30 vie to be Miss Yung Kong Bosch

KUCHING: Thirty semi-finalists of ‘Miss Yung Kong Bosch Beauty Pageant 2010’ were announced at a press conference on Thursday.

Judy Goh or YK114 won the ‘Miss Sweetie’ subsidiary tile after receiving 872 votes from newspaper readers.

The win entitled her to RM500 cash and Bosch product worth RM500.

Yung Kong trading general manager Henry Hii, who chaired the press conference, revealed that two contestants Boon Xiu Xuan and Jessie Lau had to quit the competition for personal reasons.

He said the pageant semifinal and photography session was held at Pullman Hotels and Resorts, and Hills shopping mall  Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday event started  at 8pm at the Hills shopping mall.

Also present at the press conference were Yung Kong Group chairman Dato’ Dominic Hii, its vice-chairman Kapitan Dato’ Phillip Hii, accounts director Joseph Hii, (Bosch & Skil, Germany) CMW Engineering Corporation S/B sales manager Roger Tok, Valentine Leslie Udi from D’ Valentine Audio ‘N’ Light Professional, and Hills shopping mall marketing executive Julie Liaw.

Professional and amateur photographers take part at photography challenge session on Sunday from 8am to 2pm at Pullman Hotel and Resorts and Hills shopping mall.

Their models will be the ‘Miss Yung Kong Bosch’ contestants.

Members of public are encouraged to watch one of the contestants receive the title of ‘Miss Hills’ on the night.

The first prize winner will receive RM500 in cash and gifts worth RM500, second prize winner RM300 cash and gifts worth RM300, third prize winner RM200 cash and gifts worth RM200.

Ten consolation prizes are RM100 cash and gifts worth RM50.

All photographers will each receive a free umbrella and calendars upon submission of their photos in printout and CDs for the contest by tomorrow.

Ten sports and convertible cars from Kuching Sports & Convertible Club (KSCC) will be displayed inside the mall for photography purposes.

Members of the public who own a sports and convertible car and are also interested to display their own cars inside the mall during the event may contact Hii.

Pullman Hotels and Resorts and Hills shopping mall are the sponsors of the beauty pageant.

The grand finals will be held at Yung Kong hardware store located at 4.5 mile, Jalan Penrissen on Jan 24.
