45 organisations, institutions to set up booths at BPIEF 2010

KUCHING: A total 45 institutions and organisations are to set up 75 booths at the Borneo Post International Education Fair 2010 (BPIEF) in March.

They include mostly private and public institutions of higher learning, both local and international.

The international exhibitors include three universities from Indonesia and another three from China, and they have confirmed to take part in the biggest education fair ever held in the state.

This was announced during a courtesy call by the BPIEF 2010 organising team on Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Human Resource and Training) Datin Fatimah Abdullah at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here  yesterday.

The education fair is scheduled to take place from March 26 to March 28 at Permata Exhibition Hall at Permata Carpark here.

The fair will run from 10am to 8.30pm daily.

Organised by The Borneo Post and managed by Borneo International Expo Sdn Bhd (BIE) and supported by the Education Ministry and the National Association of Private Education Institutions, the fair is targeting to set up 100 booths.

Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and Education Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who is also Deputy Prime Minister, would be invited for the launching on March 26.

Among those present during the courtesy call were project manager Alan Poon, co-organising chairmen Michael Liong and Dorge Rajah, Limkokwing assistant director Nikki Lugun and marketing executive Carrie David, Indonesian consul Toko Suprapto and The Otomotif College admissions assistant manager Addie Rajen.

MRS Management chief executive officer and managing director Kristine Liew and director of corporate services and business development Patrick Teo, See Hua Marketing Sdn Bhd public relations officer Kathy Sia and The Borneo Post, Utusan Borneo and thesundaypost general operations manager Phyllis Wong also attended the briefing.
