KENINGAU: The newly appointed board director for Majlis Hal Ehwal Anak Negeri Sabah or Sabah Native Affairs Council Anuar Ayub had warned all village heads not to issue letters of confirmation as a native or Sijil Anak Negeri either for financial gain or personal glory as they could end up in jail and sacked as a village head.Anuar said this during a familiarisation session at the district council operation room yesterday morning that was attended by some 40 native chief Representatives and village heads from Liawan and Sook.

The short session was also attended by the newly appointed district head OKK Majapin Dalinus who replaced Mohd Amir Datuk Ariff who had retired from service at the end of last year and native chiefs Yunus Dasim, Alexander Sandau and Ujuh Iyai.

“There are still many village heads out there that are still in the dark regarding their power in relation to the Native Ordinance 1952,” said Anuar, adding that fortunately for the district no such incident had occurred.
