ALOR GAJAH: Three men broke into the Alor Gajah Municipal Council office here early yesterday after tying up a security guard but did not take anything from the premises, police said.Alor Gajah police chief Supt Umar Ali Saifuddin Shaharuddin said the men entered the building at 3.30am through a rear window using an axe, wire-cutter and a machete.

The guard had his hands tied behind his back with shoelaces and wire, he said, adding that he was set free by a colleague who reported for work at 6.45am.

“No computers, documents or other stuff were reported missing. It is believed that the men had broken in to steal cash,” he told reporters.

He said the police were studying a closed circuit television (CCTV) camera recording for clues. — Bernama
