DiGi sponsors gifts for journalists’ gathering

KUCHING: DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (DiGi) has sponsored RM7,000 worth of gifts for the Kuching Division Journalists Association (KDJA) New Year gathering.The event will be held at Four Points by Sheraton this Saturday (Feb 6).

DiGi head of region for Sarawak Benny Wee handed over the gifts to KDJA treasurer John Lister Chan yesterday.

To be part of the event’s lucky draw prizes, the gifts include a Blackberry Bold 9000, a Blackberry Curve 8900 and a Blackberry Curve 8520 as well as 10 DiGi broadband modems.

“We are very excited to be part of this year’s media night celebration. It is one of the many ways for us, at DiGi, to thank and show our appreciation to our friends from the media community who have been very supportive and helpful to DiGi. It’s also a great way for us to engage and get to know them better,” Wee said in a KDJA press release.

Themed ‘Night of the Tiger Footies’, KDJA’s New Year gathering is an amalgamation of two major events this year – the Lunar Year of the Tiger and the World Cup 2010 in South Africa.

The guest of honour is Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan.

All KDJA members are invited to attend the dinner.

Members who have settled their membership fee will get a special door gift comprising a L’Oreal gift set and Kokokam herbal tea, and stand a chance to win fabulous prizes in the lucky draws.

The event will start at 6.30pm with cocktails, to allow guests to mingle with each other before the dinner proper.

Besides the lucky draws, guests will be entertained by talented KDJA members and be able to participate in exciting games.
