Sultan Johor’s mother visits royal mausoleum

JOHOR BAHARU: The mother of the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, Hajjah Khalsom Abdullah, visited the Bukit Mahmoodiah Royal Mausoleum yesterday.

Hajjah Khalsom, 72, who was accompanied by her grandson Tunku Abdul Jalil, arrived at the mausoleum at 2.30pm to visit the grave of the late Sultan Iskandar ibni Almarhum Sultan Ismail, who died on Jan 22.

Earlier, she landed at the Sultan Ismail Airport in Senai at noon on a Johor royal plane with Tunku Abdul Jalil.

Hajjah Khalsom arrived in Kuala Lumpur from London Monday night and was then taken to the Istana Pasir Pelangi, here, for lunch with the Sultan of Johor.

Sultan Ibrahim was installed as the fifth Sultan of Johor on Jan 23 at the Istana Besar, here, following the death of his father. — Bernama
