SANDAKAN: Three hundred needy old folk of various races here received any pows and hampers from Sports Toto yesterday in their annual ‘Giving Something Back To Society’ charity programme.Each of the old folks aged 60 and above received an ang pow and a mini hamper comprising more than 10 types of foodstuff and essential goods, including milk, biscuits, canned food, soap, towel and Mandarin oranges for the Chinese New Year celebration.
“This is a truly a 1Malaysia campaign as more than 15,000 needy old folks from various races stand to benefit from this campaign,” said Sandakan Sports Toto Malaysia area sales executive Michael Fung after delivery the ang pow and hampers at the Sports Toto outlet at Bandar Indah, North Road here.
Sports Toto is setting aside RM750,000 for the campaign, he said.
Fung was accompanied by assistant manager (Communications) Voon Ah See and staff.
This year’s campaign started on January 28 and will end today (Feb 5) covering 41 cities and towns nationwide.
It also marks the twenty-second year whereby Sports Toto has been holding such significant charitable cause dedicated to the needy old folks nationwide.
