PREPARING FOR POLLS EARLY: Rosnah together with Sabah Puteri Umno divisional leaders who include Musliati (seated second right).

Its national chief Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin said this was important because the outcome of the election would depend on the votes of the younger generation.

The Papar member of parliament also advised Puteri leaders to activate their divisions and branches in the state and conduct more activities that can attract more youths to join the movement.

“You have to convince the younger generation of the party’s ability to safeguard their interest and that of the Malays and bumiputeras in the state,” she said during a gathering with Sabah Puteri Umno leaders and members at the Umno building here on Sunday.

Rosnah, who is also the Deputy Minister of Health, disclosed that as of last Jan 25, Sabah Puteri Umno has 35,552 members putting it on the fourth rung in the country after Selangor, Johor and Terengganu.

In this aspect, all Puteri Umno divisional leaders have to come up with programmes and activities which are relevant to the young in order to strengthen the movement.

She also reminded Puteri Umno Sabah to always include members of other Barisan Nasional component parties and non-governmental organisations in its activities.

Puteri Umno’s central leadership, as said by Rosnah, will also organise ‘Program Puteri Jiwa Rakyat’ in the Federal Territory.

Sabah Puteri Umno chief Musliati Moslimin, her deputy Zakiah Kalipunya, National Puteri Umno assistant secretary Nor Azita Abdul Rahman, its information chief, Nordiana Shafie, works secretary Radin Seri Kartini Adbullah and Puteri Umno divisional chiefs were also present at the gathering.
