KTS Group of Companies managing director and Ribuan Pertama Sdn Bhd chairman Dato Henry Lau said the launch of the new model would definitely expand its business horizon in the transport business and meet the highest requirements on reliability, robustness, functionality and long service life.

Speaking at the launch of the new model at the car park of ParkCity Everly Hotel yesterday morning, Lau said as a sole distributor for MAN Truck & Bus (M) Sdn Bhd (MTBM) for almost five years now its prime objective is to market and distribute MAN products of premium quality to meet customers’ expectations and demands.

“Though we are still a young company, we firmly believe our resources and capability to build up network, service centers and a team of skilled technicians who are proficient in their jobs, render optimal support for our customers,” said Lau.

According to him MTBM is well established and recognised as the forerunner in the field of marketing and servicing MAN trucks and buses in Malaysia.

MTBM is a subsidiary of MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG in Munich, Germany, a truck and bus manufacturer with a history of more than 100 years, he said.

“In the field of marketing trucks and buses, the range of trucks MTBM is offering applies to the light, medium and heavy-duty including military trucks. As for the local buses, MTBM has comfortably marketed the long haul express and city buses in Malaysia,” Lau added.

He further explained the MAN chassis, tipper, mixer and tractor trucks are available for weights ranging from 15 tonnes to 26/33 tonnes and are built to cope with challenging and rough operating conditions.

The MAN CLA dump/rigid truck is very competitively priced to challenge the existing stronghold dominated by Japanese trucks like Hino and Nissan, he added.

“We deeply appreciate the ardent support given to us by MTBM since we took up the distributorship of MAN Prime Mover four years ago.

“We are confident MTBM would render similar support in this new product line-MAN Cargo line range A trucks,” he said.

He thanked MTBM for its confidence in Ribuan Pertama Sdn Bhd’s capability to market its MAN products in the Sarawak region.

Lau also thanked customers who have been most supportive in the past and sincerely hoped that the relationship as trading partners would continue to develop and grow.

Also present at the function were KTS Group of Companies deputy managing director Temenggong Vincent Lau, MTBM managing director Michael Welsh, MTBM sales and marketing general manager Eugene Chooi, senior managers, managers and other staff of KTS Group of Companies.
