KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested six people, including two couples, following the discovery of 20.289kg of ketamine worth RM300,000 during a raid on a luxury condominium in Jinjang, here on Tuesday.Sentul OCPD ACP Zakaria Pagan said they comprise two brothers, aged 40 and 54, their wives who are Indian nationals as well as the son of one of the couples and the nephew of one of the Indian women.
Zakaria said during the raid at 11pm, the six were in the midst of packing the drug believed to be for distribution around Sentul.
“The drug is packed in packages of 500gm and 1kg each,” he told reporters.
Police also seized RM2,105 in cash, 140 Eramin tablets, a Toyota Alphard MPV, a Honda car and packaging equipment, including a sealer, he said.
It was the biggest seizure made by the district police headquarters so far, he added.
Police were tracing the source of the drug and did not rule out the possibility that it might have been brought in from India.
The suspects, aged between 22 and 54, had been remanded for a week until Tuesday.
Police are investigating the case under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Acts which carries the death sentence upon conviction. — Bernama
