SIBU: A carpenter in his 40s received life-threatening SMSes from someone whom he suspected was the same one who had earlier accused him of stealing rubber.He later lodged a police report.
In his report, he said a man walked into his quarters in Teku on Tuesday at 7.30am and accused him of stealing rubber from an estate.
He denied the charge and told the intruder he was only a worker who built houses.
In another case on the same day, a 25-year-old man from Taman Permai received a call from a stranger who threatened to burn his house.
In the call, the caller threatened to burn the rubber estate owner’s house if he refused to let out his plantation.
Concerned for his safety and that of his family, he lodged a police report.
