The 64-year-old’s offences come under Section 376 of the Penal Code which provides for up to 20 years’ jail, a fine and whipping.

The man from Bintulu pleaded not guilty to three charges last March 15 when he was charged.

He was arrested last March 7 after reports against him were lodged by the sisters’ relatives.

He allegedly raped the girls last February and March.

It was said that the ‘bomoh’ rented a room in a house belonging to the parents of the girls.

The parents were divorced a few years ago.

He stayed with the family for three months after the father left the girls in the care of their mother.

He was placed on a RM5,000 cash bail in two sureties for each charge.

Judge Timothy Finlayson Joel ordered him to engage a defence counsel and then reserved May 17 for another hearing.
