Deputy Home Minister Datuk Wira Abu Seman Yusof said they had evaluated the preliminary report on the investigation and found that it could still be improved.

There was a possibility that the panel would ask the police to improve the standing order to ensure a fair and transparent investigation, he told a media conference after chairing a meeting of the special panel at his office here yesterday.

Abu Seman said this when asked to comment on a recent newspaper report which claimed that the special panel had suggested that the IGSO be disclosed to the public.

The Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Musa Hassan, when responding to the newspaper report, had said that the police had no qualms about disclosing to the public the IGSO on the discharge of firearms, if asked to do so.

Following the investigation, a police corporal, Jenain Subi, 48, had been charged in the Shah Alam sessions Court with causing Aminulrasyid’s death.

He pleaded not guilty.
