The donations are meant to replenish the supply of food at SCCS Children Cancer Centre here which houses patients and their parents and family members from other parts of Sarawak coming to the state capital for treatment.

The donors’ representative Lim Chee Haw presented those items at a simple ceremony held at the centre at Jalan Maxwell recently.

Lim said the donors comprised businessmen who wanted to give something back to the society after making profits or fortune.

“We will help those who are in need regardless of race and religion.

“It is always good to give, especially after we receive some monetary gains. The deed of contributing to the society should be encouraged,” he said.

Lim also said he had played representative for anonymous donors numerous times, and he was willing to do it as long as their intentions were noble and sincere.
