ENGKILILI: A total of 120 farmers from five longhouses at Skim Skrang, whose padi fields were destroyed by floods last year, received their compassionate money from the government yesterday.
The farmers who received financial assistance totalling RM120,000 were from Rumah Muntai, Rumah Serit, Rumah Sim, Rumah Seli and Rumah Rangkong.
Engkilili assemblyman Dr Johnnical Rayong Ngipa was present at the Sub-district Office Engkilili (Pejabat Kecil Daerah Engkilili) to distribute RM1,000 each to the farmers.
In his speech, Rayong thanked the government for their concern towards the people’s plight after the flood.
He hoped that the people of Engkilili would work together with the government towards developing the
state.
