MIC to expel members who undermine party

KUALA LUMPUR: MIC president Datuk Seri S Samy Vellu has warned party members that action  would be taken against those who undermined the party.

“We do not take action against critics, we only act against those who tried to destroy the party,” he told reporters after opening the national MIC Youth, Wanita and Puteri general assembly here yesterday.

Samy Vellu said MIC members have the right to give their views in party meetings but not outside the party, and if they did so they would be expelled.

“There are certain quarters who like to condemn the MIC but do not know what the party have done, have not maintain contact with the party, like to meddle in politics. But we do not care and will continue with our activities.

“Anyone can come, talk and run here and there but in the end there is only one place for the community to come to, that is the MIC,” he said.

Samy Vellu said the party was also receptive to positive views, including those published in newspapers, calling for the party to change its thinking. — Bernama
