KUCHING: A youth was badly beaten up by a group of his friends near Kampung Stutong Lama in Taman BDC late Wednesday night.
The 20-something victim was found lying by the side of the road with his face bloodied and bruised around 11.30pm by another friend who happened to pass through the area.
He was taken to the Sarawak General Hospital and admitted for further treatment.
According to the friend, the victim had been set upon by some 10 friends following an argument over an undisclosed matter.
Meanwhile, in a similar incident, a college student lost a handphone and cash after he was assaulted by a friend early Wednesday morning.
The 21-year-old from Taman Malihah was asked by the friend to meet up at a coffee shop in Matang Jaya around 3am to discuss ‘important’ matters, but was instead beaten up with a wooden club.
The so-called friend then grabbed the student’s handphone and about RM50 in cash before leaving the scene.
A police report of the incident was lodged later the same day.
