The mid-sized SUV delivers class-leading and innovative practicality along with impressive refinement and fuel efficiency.

The new X-Trail is powered by an all-aluminum MR20DE two-litre four-cylinder engine mated to Nissan’s latest generation XTRONIC CVT with six-speed manual shift mode.

This new powertrain which drives the front wheels offers responsive performance and refinement to maintain superior fuel economy (rated at 14 kilometres per litre).

In Sibu, its branch manager Lucas Ngun, speaking at the launch here recently, was optimistic that sales of the new X-Trail would be encouraging.

“Thus far, we have more than 20 bookings nationwide. We are confident that sales will hit an all-time high due to the luxury vehicle features of the new X-Trail,” he added.

Ngun said the new X-Trail came with attractive features such as the powered front seats (six-way adjustable for the driver and four-way adjustable for the front passenger) and rear air-cond ventilation with front and rear cup holders.

New soft padding on the dashboard, door armrests and panels, also on the centre console offered a luxurious and comfortable experience from within.

The all-new X-Trail came with an audio system with MP3 playback, six-virtual CD memory, USB, AUX, SD Card inputs, Bluetooth function and Telephone Control Input.

In addition, Nissan’s Intelligent Key (i-Key), a true keyless entry and start system combined with engine immobiliser and alarm system was also a new feature of the X-Trail.

Ngun said the all-new Nissan X-Trail 2WD was fully imported from Nissan Motor Indonesia in the state-of-the-art plant utilising the Nissan Production Way (NPW), Nissan’s international standard for global quality manufacturing and assembly.

It was only available in a two-litre engine variant with XTRONIC CVT system that came with five colour options – Diamond Silver, Grey Metallic, Black Solid, Burning Red and Pacific Blue.

The on-the-road price (inclusive of insurance, road tax, registration fee and ownership claim fee) for East Malaysia stands at RM149,500. The warranty period for the new X-Trail will be three years or 100,000 kilometres (whichever came first).
