Pondok Laguna offers Ramadan ‘berbuka’ delights

KUCHING: Indonesian cuisine expert Pondok Laguna is organising a sumptuous buffet promotion in conjunction with the upcoming month of Ramadan.

Starting from August 11 onwards, the restaurant will play host to a daily buffet from 6am to 9pm in line with ‘buka puasa’ (break of fast). This promotion will continue all the way to Hari Raya. The menu for the buffet changes daily in order to spice things up.

It highlighted that the buffet will include Indonesian specialties such as ‘lumpia’, ‘ ikan pesmol’, ‘ sotong belado’, ‘rendang daging’, ‘kolak pisang’, fried rice, corn soup, butter chicken, padang-style prawns, mixed vegetables and so on, accompanied by cordial drinks.

For this promotion, adults will be charged RM21.90 per person, while children between the ages of three and 12 will be charged at half price.

The restaurant’s tantalising dishes are whipped up by Chef Adeng Sopandi from Jakarta with 15 years of experience under his belt, having served with many restaurants and hotels back in his country.

He is assisted by Chef Eem Emiliono with similar qualifications, both aiming to bring the best of Indonesian cuisine to Kuchingites.

Apart from its daily set menus and seasonal promotions, this establishment also caters to outdoor events such as weddings, parties and so on with a minimum amount of 30 pax for booking.

The restaurant also has three private rooms aptly named Bali, Surabaya and Jakarta to cater for private functions such as meetings and family gatherings. The rooms can fit up to 12 persons at a time.

Pondok Laguna opens for lunch at 11am to 2pm and for dinner at 6pm to 10pm daily and is located at Lot G03C, Ground Floor, Crown Square.
