KUALA LUMPUR: Kolej Yayasan UEM (KYUEM) is an excellent place to prepare for university life. Each year KYUEM achieves its overall objective by producing not only academically equipped students, but well-rounded, confident individuals, who are ready to take on the university life and beyond.

SUITABLE ATMOSPHERE: KYUEM offers a pleasing environment for learning and relaxing.

The college, which is based on the concept of renowned boarding schools in the United Kingdom, is a testament to itself. The overall excellence culture championed by the college makes it a popular choice throughout the region.

The co-educational, fully-residential college achieved remarkable heights in the recently released Cambridge International A-Level examination results, where approximately 85 per cent of its students were awarded places in well-known seats of learning such as University College London, London School of Economics, University of Manchester, University of Bristol, University of Newcastle, Irish Universities, the United States and Canada.

Two hundred and forty nine students sat for the June 2010 examinations, and over 40 per cent achieved 3A’s or more (101 students), 56 per cent scored A and A grades and 80 per cent scored A, A or B. These figures are specifically a positive reflection of its university placement expertise.

More significantly, this year’s graduating batch also saw six outstanding students confirm their placements at Oxbridge, two at the University of Oxford and four at the University of Cambridge, where they embark on prestigious courses beginning this month.

The six students are Sin Tian Feng (Mathematics – Newnham College Cambridge), Amelia Foong Yee Ching (PPE – Keble College Oxford), Sin Fang Yen (Economics – Fitzwilliam College Cambridge), Low Wen Zhen (Law – Queen’s College Cambridge), Mishyan Kumar Supramaniam (Material Science – St. Anne’s College Oxford) and Muhd Farid Nazer bin Muhd Faruqu (Natural Sciences, Biological – Homerton College Cambridge).

The overall success of the college is partly due to its focus on offering the Cambridge International A-Levels programme which can be undertaken either over 18 months or over a 24-month, four-semester period.

KYUEM Open Day will take place at 10am to 1.30pm on October 30 and November 13 at the college campus. Please be assured of your place by calling Pierre or  Norazlan at 03-64601234 to make your reservations.
