SIBU: Breakfast turned out costly for a businessman from Penang who ended up losing his luggage containing sales items worth more than RM1,000.
The man known only as Tong, in his early 30s, also lost his personal possessions and flight tickets to Bintulu and Sabah.
Before the 9.30am incident, the man had called for a taxi from a budget hotel in Kampung Nyabor Road to get to Sibu Airport.
The taxi arrived shortly after but when the driver did not see Tong at the hotel’s lobby, he decided to have breakfast at a nearby coffee shop.
Tong got to the lobby and saw the driver having breakfast so he decided to join him after putting his luggage inside the taxi.
But when they return to the taxi, Tong was shocked to see his bag gone.
It is said he came here on Saturday.
