KUCHING: Datin Linda Tsen, the wife of Batu Sapi MP Datuk Edmund Chong, is ‘the best force’ for Barisan Nasional (BN) to retain the seat come polling on Nov 4.
Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili said yesterday that Tsen represented the best candidate to deliver the job given that she was no stranger to politics.
“That (Tsen being announced the candidate) is the decision of the Barisan Nasional, recommended by PBS president (Tan Sri Dr Joseph Pairin Kitingan) and accepted by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman, chairman of Sabah Barisan Nasional.
“Based on the ground investigation we had and given the situation, she is the best candidate for the job,” he told reporters after opening Innospace Sarawak – the first community innovation centre in the country — at Sirim Sarawak in Demak Laut Industrial Park near here.
He was asked to comment on the announcement of the BN’s candidate for Batu Sapi by-election, which is called following the demise of Chong in a road accident on Oct 9.
