It is hoped that the talk will open the public’s eyes and ears to the importance of organ donation.

On Sunday,  Pustaka Miri will be collaborating with Sarawak Women and Family Development Council in organising ‘Teenagers’ Well-being Programme’. The half-day programme will commence at 8am.

Political secretary to the chief minister, Robert Laing Anyie is expected to attend and officially open the proceedings.

Its objective is to create awareness amongst teenagers and youths about reproductive health and sexuality as well as exposing them to skills in curbing risky sexual behaviours, which could contribute to unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases. The programme will include two talks — ‘Youths Today, Tomorrow’s Leaders’ by Miri Division Education Department’s counsellor Jalong Wan and  ‘Awareness on Reproductive Health, Sexuality and Curbing Risky Sexual Behaviours’ by Miri Hospital’s Obstetrics and Gynaecology Specialist Dr Yusmadi Abdullah.
