Highly decomposed body found floating near wharf


SIBU: A highly decomposed body of a man was found floating near Tg Maling wharf at Rajang River early yesterday.

HIGHLY DECOMPOSED: Marine police fish out the body of a man from Rajang River at Tg Maling wharf.

Villagers spotted the body with its tongue protruding floating at 6.30am and tied it to a wooden pole beside the wharf.

They believed the dead man was a foreign sawmill worker.

Marine police upon receiving a call about the incident went to the scene and fished out the body at 10.30am.

It has yet to be identified.

The body was clad in a long sleeved shirt and long pants.

Meanwhile, in another incident, two men were arrested for suspected involvement in a house break-in last week.

Police, who were on their routine patrol, spotted the two acting suspiciously at a flat in Awang Ramli Amit Road here at around 11.30pm.

The police then nabbed them for inspection and found a bag containing break-in tools in their possession.

The suspects, aged 30 and 31 from Kpg Datuk and Kpg Hilir respectively were brought to the police station along with the tools.
