Big wins recognition of Najib’s leadership – Muhyiddin

SANDAKAN:   Barisan Nasional’s (BN) big wins at Batu Sapi and Galas by-election is proof of the people’s recognition of the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said it they were not only special to Najib but also recognition of the leadership of Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman.

“The results are special to our Prime Mminister and show that his leadership is accepted by the people.

“The 1Malaysia concept, Government Transformation Programme (GTP), Economy Transformation Programme (ETP), New Economic Model, Tenth Malaysia Plan (10MP) are all accepted,” he told reporters after result of Batu Sapi was announced at Dewan Masyarakat Sandakan here last night.

Muhyiddin said the wins at Batu Sapi and Galas showed that the trend had shifted in fovour of BN as results showed strong support from Muslim  bumiputeras and non-Muslims like the Chinese and others.

“The people of Batu Sapi want BN to play a bigger role in championing their cause. I told the Chief Minister that the pledges will be implemented by a committee to be monitored by him.

“This has been agreed and will be fully implemented. This development is significant as it comes after the leadership made many changes.”

Muhyiddin said the Batu Sapi result showed that the people rejected issues by the opposition including ‘Sabah For Sabahans’ and ‘Autonomy for Sabah.’

“This shows that Sabahans regard themself as part of the 1Malaysia people.”

He thanked BN voters, election director Musa and deputy director Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan for working hard to ensure victory.

Muhyiddin also thanked Galas election director Tengku Razaliegh Hamzah, his deputy Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed and BN election machinery for the hard work.

“I also like to thank the Election Commission and security forces for ensuring that the election process proceed smoothly and successfully,” he added. – Bernama
