Election Commission (EC) officers said many of the voters cast their votes early and this caused a massive traffic jam stretching from Ocean King Seafood Restaurant to the respective polling stations at SK Bandar II and SK Karamunting.

Deputy Chief Minister cum Karamunting assemblyman Datuk Peter Pang En Yin, Datin Cheang Poh Nee and their entourage turned up at the SK Karamunting polling station at 9.54am, giving support and encouragement to BN candidate Datin Linda Tsen Thau Lin.

Meanwhile, a similar traffic jam occurred at Jalan Cecily at the Pei Ying School polling centre and Cheng Min School polling centre near the Sandakan Community Centre.

The heavy turnout maybe was due to the announcement of the Meteorology Department that there would be rain in the afternoon.
