SIBU: Many members of the public find policemen intimidating so it is up to the law enforcers to change this perception, said Information Department officer Rosman Zaini.
He suggested that the police employ 1Malaysia concept when discharging their duty.
Rosman was giving a talk on 1Malaysia in Rumah Perkep at Kanowit Police Headquarters recently.
He said with a deeper understanding of 1Malaysia concept, the police could allay people’s fear of them to get more cooperation.
The police needed to be more sensitive to the feelings of the public, he explained, adding that body language was also crucial
“The right body language will enhance trust and confidence in the police,” he reiterated.
Also present at the function were Kanowit police chief ASP Lanying Juing, crime investigation department head Mohamad Razif Mohd Yunus, Sibu and Mukah Information Department officer Wasrin Jakaria and Kanowit Information Department officer Wan Mohd Zuki.
