KOTA KINABALU: The Miss Borneo Beautiful beauty pageant is back and in its second year has expanded to Sabah.

A total of 14 contestants were chosen out of 33 ladies who will be competing in the final on Nov 10 at the Magellan Hotel, Sutera Harbour here.
The top three winners will represent Sabah to compete at national level in Sarawak
The Miss Borneo Beautiful is an exclusive franchise from the Alaric Productions Company, a leading and reputable beauty pageant organiser in Sarawak, and the only pageant organiser in the world to be assessed and certified with the ISO9001:2000 (Quality Management in Beauty Pageant).
In Sabah, the Miss Borneo Beautiful is organised by the Malaysia Consumers Protection Organisation (PPPM), Kepayan branch, the Imperial Beauty & Make up and Adlinkmedia Sdn Bhd.
According to one of the main sponsors PPPM deputy president, Kepayan branch Datuk Yeo Kok Vui, the purpose of their organisation to be the main sponsor was to promote tourism in Sabah.
“This is the right timing to do charity works and through this channel PPPM can also promote this organisation as a non-profit organisation,” Yeo said to reporters at Celyn Hotel at City Mall here yesterday.
“Besides that, the objective of this activity is to promote and to cultivate a beautiful mindset among our society,” he said, adding that the beneficiaries are Seri Mengasih and The Salvation Army.
