Her decision to withdraw as chancellor has been approved by Selangor’s Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, the Prime Minister’s wife said at the fifth Unisel convocation at the Bestari Jaya campus here.

Also present was Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

Rosmah said the convocation would be the last that she presided over.

Rosmah, who was appointed in February 2006, will end her tenure in February next year.

Rosmah recalled that Unisel only offered first degrees when she was appointed chancellor.

Now, she noted, it offered masters degrees, and its intake had increased significantly.

At a press conference, Abdul Khalid thanked Rosmah for helping to build the image of Unisel.

He said the new chancellor would be named soon, after receiving approval from the Sultan. —Bernama
